Because I don't get cable, all my TV is over the internet. I happened upon America's Got Talent and frankly, there have been three acts that totally messed with my mind...the 14-year-old opera singer:

I mean, c'mon...14 years old? I think this is proof positive of reincarnation.

 

The singer Bryan Crum who it seems doesn't actually do the singing, but something crawls out of him and sings on his behalf:

Yeah, it's a cover version of "Something in the Air Tonight," and yeah, it's pop music but the guy's possessed when he sings.

 

And then there's the 12-year old ukulele-wielding songwriter from Suffern, NY...

She's quirky beyond her years and definitely not just a singer, but a natural entertainer.

 

Whether you like the music or not doesn't really matter, because what all these three have is an incredible passion for what they do. Whether you like the kind of passion they have or not, they are definitely not phoning in their parts. I love seeing people who love music so much that is comes out of every pore of their bodies.

But that can happen with anyone. I guess I'm just not cut out to be a talent scout.

 

Now, Presley Barker here is a 12 year old kid, or maybe he's still 11, who can really pick guitar. And it's not just that he plays fast and accurate, he has the phrasing down right and doesn't play the same licks over and over.
