Hey all,

Let's face it, EQ is one of the harder mixing skills to learn. You can understand the principles, but it takes a lot of practice and trial and error to master the skill and become efficient and effective at it.

I downloaded the demo for Fabfilter Pro Q2 tonight, and this is a plugin that I think will make it easier for me. Just having the live frequency spectrum helps, and while I would never copy another record's sonic signature, the ability to do so helps me understand why my mix sounds different.

This is the kind of plug-in that will help me identify issues, and then I can decide what tool to use to address them. In many cases that may be Fabfilter itself, or I could always grab another EQ if I'm looking for a vintage flavor.

It's a way cool tool... I've got plenty of EQ plugins (mostly vintage recreations), but I think this one is going to help me take things to another level.
