Members blue2blue Posted April 6, 2016 Members Posted April 6, 2016 This is a sad one. RIP, Mr Haggard. "Sing Me Back Home," live from 2009. [video=youtube;KDDyyDjWM_0]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDDyyDjWM_0
Members Mandolin Picker Posted April 6, 2016 Members Posted April 6, 2016 He was a voice for the 'working man' in country music. During that time period, he was one of the blue collar singers on the radio. Actually got to see him as a kid in the old (now closed) Sunset Park outdoor venue in Pennsylvania. Always liked him. Probably one of my favorite songs of his was 'Momma Tried'. Seemed to apply in one way or another to a lot of folks.
