Members Jeff Leites Posted April 5, 2016 Members Posted April 5, 2016 I heard this oldie yesterday and I just can't remember the name of it. It's an old instrumental, heavy with sax. I sloppily plunked out what I could remember of it, unplugged here: http://jeffreyleites.com/NameThatTune.mp3 I think the word "Wild" might be in the title, but I'm not sure.

Members Jeff Leites Posted April 5, 2016 Author Members Posted April 5, 2016 Thanks Mike! I don't think I've heard that in many decades. What a great old tune. Wonder if it was one of the first to use a distorted guitar in rock.
Phil O'Keefe Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Thanks Mike! I don't think I've heard that in many decades. What a great old tune. Wonder if it was one of the first to use a distorted guitar in rock. I didn't recognize it / couldn't name it when I was listening to your clip, but I do recall it now that I heard the original. It's got tons of distortion on it - on everything. I suspect that was a result of the way it was recorded as much as it was due to distortion on the individual instruments, although the lead guitar amp is definitely cranked up to the point of distortion. Kind of sounds like a tweed era Fender to me, but that's just a guess. Cool old song!
