CHIP MUSIC ANYONE?

Now when I made my Commodore 64 sounds ......way back in 1982 , I tried to make the best synth sounds that I could with it, but today, young people are embracing deliberate game sounds in music using the old 8 bit computers.

Haven't read the article yet, but I identify the term as "chip tunes".

 

There is a thing called the "damascene", where people make very small executables which setup animated generative video - not pre rendered - and sometimes music - the "chip tunes", with their own embedded synthesis engines.

Read the article... huh, interesting take. I don't think it is quite accurate, but I guess it gets the gist.
