Members tlbonehead
PLX3402 would be perfect if they are 8 ohm cabs.
Members Mogwix
Yorkville lists them at 700W, which is fine for those boxes IME. I'd pair them with a QSC GX7.
Members RoadRanger
They seem to be 700wrms? PLX3602 or older PLX3402 or Crown XTi4000. Cheap solution would be a used RMX1450 bridged.

Doubt I would want this particular guy to be bridging a RMX1450 since he still wet behind the ears.Reason I ask what the RMS was because the old specs had them at 500w RMS IIRC and now they jumped up to 700w RMS.Kind like my NX35's over night magically increased power handling and gained more SPL with a magic maple leaf LOL I love Yorkies but still just wanna make sure I tell the guy use the RMS rating since he still learning. Members agedhorse
I wouldn't go beyond 700 watts with a wet behind the ears type. No way.
Members twostone
I wouldn't go beyond 700 watts with a wet behind the ears type. No way. My thoughts exaclty. He does have a DRPA so he can go to the DBX forum and hit up Gadget I know he would know the tuning and limiter setting for those subs.
Members RoadRanger
I wouldn't go beyond 700 watts with a wet behind the ears type. No way.Ah... A bridged 1450 is about 700w into each - no?
Members RoadRanger
Doubt I would want this particular guy to be bridging a RMX1450 since he still wet behind the ears.Ain't that hard . Reason I ask what the RMS was because the old specs had them at 500w RMS IIRC and now they jumped up to 700w RMS.... and I saw it listed as 800 on some sites . Anybody know the voice coil diameter? Members agedhorse
No way is it 800 watts RMS (IMO)... unless marketing says it is
Members RoadRanger
No way is it 800 watts RMS (IMO)... unless marketing says it is There service manual lists it as 800w program in one place and 1200w program in another . What mention of voice coil size I see on the web says 4" - dunno if that's right?
Members agedhorse
4" sounds right, but while size matters, it's not the only thing that matters.
Members dedmeet
OP, et al, for the moment, Yorkville's web page says the cab in question is 8 ohms and 700W continuous (700w cont / 1400w prograsm / 2800w peak). Nothing in the IPR series that you can actually buy right now is in this power range in stereo mode. The PLX3402 would be nearly ideal.
Members RoadRanger
4" sounds right, but while size matters, it's not the only thing that matters.Only in that if it was a 3" NFW would it take 600 or 700wrms .
Members RoadRanger
The PLX3402 would be nearly ideal.... except for cost . Same power but a few more pounds from a $250 used RMX1450 bridged .
Members Unalaska
GX7 would be good as well. A bridged 1450 will do fine, it's less stressful on an amp if it isn't bridged though.
Members agedhorse
Only in that if it was a 3" NFW would it take 600 or 700wrms . Depends on things like winding depth, inside/outside form, bobbin material, venting, VC wire size/material, and then things like mechanical suspension properties.
