The government has all the information they want on you whether you like it or not. Whether you go online or not, they have so much info on you that you`re not even aware of. I guess if you`re really paranoid you could use TOR and avoid social media all together but if they want info on you or think you`re a person of interest, they will get it somehow, even if you`re using TOR.
