Members BleuDog
I have a 3000W amp and two sets of PA speakers, 700W and 500W. Can I daisy chain a 700W to a 500W on each channel? Or should I keeps the 700's on one channel and the 500's on the other? Or are both ways wrong? BleuDog
Members Axisplayer
If they are the same impedance, they will each see the same power if daisy chained, so you will only be safe with 1000 watts per channel since you have to set levels based on the lower power speaker. If they are not the same impedance, the power will vary per cabinet. It is safe to daisy chain them, but be careful with applied power and know what you are doing or you can get into trouble. Losing a couple hundred watts to the 700 watt cabinet is not enough to make much audible difference. Imperceptible for all practical purposes. Members BleuDog
Thanks for the quick reply. I did a bit of research and came up with similar information, but I also like to ask a pro just for a sanity check. After 30 years in the Army, I learned to just stomach being the newbie and asking the dumb questions.
Members agedhorse
Now for the more important question... are these real power rarings or some marketing distorted optimistic rating?
