Members bmast160
does anyone know of an aftermarket upgrade to hold the tubes in on a vox ac-30 hand wired. the current mechanism is such a hassle to use when tubes need to be switched - springs and screws that fall apart every time -> http://www.ac30-guide.com/wp-content/gallery/ac30-handwired-2010/img_1836.jpg i'd looking for something like this -> http://s5.photobucket.com/user/guitarfish/media/Guitars/Amps/V3112/6-Tubes.jpg.html

Members WRGKMC
You may actually be better off with the springs. Cans do make the tubes hotter even though they are vented at the top. EL34's are biased hot and the additional heat mat not be the best for them. They do shield RF however so the amp may run quieter. If you try them let us know how they work out. The ones Phil listed may require the socket to be changed. These may only require the base to screw on to the socket with the existing anchor screws.https://www.tubedepot.com/products/9-pin-miniature-socket-with-shield
