Members stangconv
Hey I am looking at IEM and was gonna pull the trigger on a galaxy set, when I found a psm-600 from shure available used. They are roughly the same price when you figure in the galaxys shipping. Which will be the better unit?
Members Axisplayer
The 600 is a good unit, but make sure it is not in the 700 mhz spectrum. A lot of them were and they wound up being dumped fairly cheap because of that to unsuspecting and poorly informed people. Don't be one of them. Members stangconv
Anyone? Is that a decent deal?
Members Axisplayer
The unit does have decent sound quality, and is fairly durable. Thats all the good points. The truly bad point is that it has exactly 2 frequencies available for use. What you saw on specs that looks like a wide range is actually the range of possible ordering options. Once ordered, the units have two frequencies available. If you zoom in on the picture of the belt pack you can see the two that this unit has. I don't Canadian conditions, but in the US that would be the kiss of death in a LOT of places. I had trouble working with units that had 1200 frequencies to choose from, not just 2. I would pass and go newer and more frequency agile if it was me.
Members TimmyP
Look for a used Senny G3 or G2 system (if you want to rack it, be aware that G2 rack mounts are no longer available - you'd have to use a rack shelf). Or an AT M3 (or M2). Frequency agility will become more important as time goes on. The old Shure hasn't any. The others likely sound better as well. Members stangconv
Ok perfect thanks. I'll Pass and go with the galaxy... There isn't a whole lot of used options around here. My other options are a shure 200 and a carvin something or junk. Thanks for the help.
