I keep one resonator and my lap slider in open D. A cool thing that you probably already know is that if you know a song in open G, move it up (away from the floor) one string, ie anything that you normally play on the first string moves to the second. Immediately doubles your repertoire.

You're Lucky: I can't get out... of the office! (23: 00).

There's always an emergency before I can leave out for vacations!

Seriously, I can't get out of the E scale... (Well, sometimes I go to A...) !! :-(

I'm learning all kinds of new chord fingerings and may (probably won't) ferret out their names one day. I'll move back to standard when I tire of the drone strings. For now, I'm addicted to it.

Misha, send a PM to one of the mods if you haven't already. Maybe their tech guru's forgot to throw a binary switch or something.

Neil, I get it. I need to replace 9 fret wires first, though.

Joe. In effect the chord shapes are the "same" in both tunings but for open G you play them one string down towards the 1st string.

So say if you play a D chord in open D as 054300, then a G chord in open G will be 005430. Works for all the related chords too.
