Members Lane1777
I wanted to do something for Kate`s Law" this is all I really could do. Its a little experimental with the music melting with the lyric.I wanted to keep this wide" like Henry David said on creativity.“What does education often do? It makes a straight-cut ditch of a free, meandering brook.”― Henry David Thoreautags: creativity, education, freedom [this is the shorter version] Katev1kate was a good man`s daughterthat I never knew, till I saw Her on the evening news.v2Kate will touch foreverthats so true,I have sent this story on to you. chorus:Won`t you take a walk with medown on the pier...we can talk about whats new.Won`t you take a walk with me...here is my hand..it is such a short time..till this day ends.v3Kate was this beautiful womanI`m telling you,,and the story... broke my heart in two. chorus:Won`t you take a walk with medown on the pier...we can talk about whats new.Won`t you take a walk with me...here is my hand..it is such a short time..till this day ends. bridge:a day in the sunlight,a brother`s love shining through..Kate was taken from them.... far to soon. chorus:Won`t you take a walk with medown on the pier...we can talk about whats new.Won`t you take a walk with me...here is my hand..it is such a short time..till this day end. © Copyright 2015 Vincent. Members rhino55
I like Thoreau, but I think this might benefit from some Hemingway. There's a story here but it's not really being told. Although, I must admit, I was glad this didn't get political. Maybe this is a better treatment.

Members rickidoo
A *very* touching song. I'm liking the melody and music much (maybe the strings are a little bit overdone...).directly... in verse one we know something very bad happened to this person. And then the rest of the song expands on it. I am reminded of some dated tunes that also deal with tragedy. Don McClain's American Pie, tips its hat on "the day the music died", but then tells a backstory that intuitively we know is about sadness but it's more a very subtle thing. And the other song about a tragedy is Beatles "Day in the life", which does hit you up front with the tragedy, but somehow manages to make the experience a bit more dreamlike and contemplative. At any rate what i am trying to say is this: as a tribute song this works fine as is. It really did rip my heart strings. But if it could be made a bit more contemplative.. a bit less direct in the backstory... Just my thoughts. Rick
