Members 1001gear Posted January 30, 2015 Members Posted January 30, 2015 Not a fan of too many pop tunes especially the behavior police type lyric but I do that kind of overdone cover quite often just by way of working out. Pop tunes are a great way to test the fit of odd bits and extra stylistic connectivity besides being the ultimate metronome. Drumming is unique in regards to latency. Many figures can require one hand moving up and down a matter of a few inches while the other may have to travel many yards around the kit. Latency at the millisecond level in either hand can disrupt the musical flow into literally unacceptable levels. No better way to work at this than overplaying a simple pop tune.
Members frankieazzariti Posted February 1, 2015 Author Members Posted February 1, 2015 Thanks guys! And thanks Phil! Great forum. I check it every 3 days or so. Great stuff I tried to have fun with this drum cover. Could be a lil boring at first playing it "ringo starr" style (which has nothing wrong with it btw) And you're absolutely right 1001gear, it is a challenge to overplay the song without making it hurtful to the ear. But I really didn't think of that. I just played for the sake's of playing. I didn't even practice the songs that much cuz I wanted to keep it fresh for me and go with the moment. I'm happy with what came out and I'm glad you guys liked it. I was afraid that it could've been too much
