Members Aetherium
Is there a mid impedance - passive or active - hex pickup on the market with seperate audio outputsand no cross talk? The electromagnetic hex pickups designed for MIDI (Roland GK-3 et al.) are extremely low impedenceand share a common earth connection, and piezo hex pickups are extremely high impedance and sound like a string tied between 2 rusty soup tins. I want to be able to isolate and turn individual strings on and off and run each string through a seperate amp channel with seperate effects and EQ. Any tips would be appreciated. Members Aetherium
I've been poking around the net for anything on bass divided pickups.. so far I've only got 2 hits : Ubertar Hexaphonic Pickups and AE Divided Bass String Sensorsthe first seems to be standard size and form hex pickups designed to replace stock pickups..and the second are surface mounted, or I guess also installed?, but definiately not standard size or form. Both are VG-88 compatible with breakout boxes, so I think I found what I was looking for! ^:-
Members InRealLife
I think both Bartolini copeland used to make hex pickups that were more standard pickups, not "synth drivers" -- so you could pan your strings and stuff (I think Hamer made a couple of special edition guitars with them preinstalled)
