Members Mr.Grumpy
Maybe he's using flatwound strings? Gives that nice jazzy tone, and no finger noise.

Members DeepEnd
Great. Thanks for sharing. Maybe he's using flatwound strings? Gives that nice jazzy tone, and no finger noise. My first thought was that the right amp made a difference but you may be onto something.
Members onelife
Buddy gets his Stratocaster to sound like a Country Gentleman on this one. I thought about this a bit more. Buddy's electric guitar sounds like an electric guitar of the day. The full potential of the strat was still, for the most part, hidden away waiting for Jimi to show the world what "else" could be done with it. Buddy looks like a country gentleman in this one. Members wasgtrjones
Thought it sounded to me like a typical low-wind neck pickup with some tone knob rolled-off. Still pretty stringy on the high strings at the 12th fret, and didn't sound terribly hollow to me.
Members gardo
The Lawrence Welk show was kind of hokey but I watch it every chance I get.The musicians on that show were all first rate.Remember too that the recording quality of the day especially for live TV was nowhere near todays standards
