Members kindbeats
Hey everyone, The "Return of the Groove" series features lessons that focus on developing one's sense of groove by learning fun and unique rhythms, as well as the occasional classic . Some of these are from when I first started posting online lessons about five years ago, so you will notice that the picture quality and my level of comfort in front of the camera increase as the series carries on. As always, the goal should be to have fun with these and try to make them your own. Drum on! Members kindbeats
For Lesson 10, I decided to challenge both the viewer and myself with something special. The result is what I call an upside down samba. Basically, the traditional bass drum pattern is being voiced on the snare and the traditional snare part is voiced on the bass drum. The hi-hats remain the same, but there are a few variations for our riding hand to play. As always, transcriptions can be found at www.kindbeatsdrums.com/lessons. Have fun and make it your own!
