Thanks! Our bass player is also a great sound man, so we're fortunate because we are often hauling PA and relying on ourselves for that.

At this gig I am using an Egnater Rebel 30 with a pair of the Egnater 112x cabs. On the overdrive channel, gain probably around 6. It's typically my go to amp because it sounds great and is easy to carry. But I just got a Jet City 50 head that I am loving; however, it's NOT as portable...lol. Guitar is an LP 70s Tribute with a DiMarzio DLX Plus in the bridge, FYI.

I was asking because it looks like a typical venue for what we play and the levels are just perfect. I'm close to convincing the guys to play through tiny amps so we can keep stage volume low. Guitar one through a Micro Terror and a Marshall 1x12 cab, then guitar two through my Bugera V5. I think it would work. They just don't "look" rock n roll...

Since we're still fine tuning BO'R, guitar two goes back and forth between a simple single picked pattern with delay and a triplet picked pattern F > A# > F > A# with no delay. It's not yet ready for prime time, sadly.

I'm thinking IWYtWM will be a winner based on the songs people in the area like. But I have been wrong...

I Want You To Want Me... has been a setlist staple of ours for over 10 years. We don't play it every show... we throw it in when we want to appeal to an older audience. It's always a winner for us.

I see. Yeah, I got over the whole 'wall of cabs' look about 1.5 nanoseconds after I herniated a disc in my neck back in 2008! You might be pushing it with 5 watts. IMHO, a 30 watt combo or head is more than enough for club work if you have a decent PA. Ironically, my bass player has a huge 8x10 Ampeg cab and SVT pro amp, but hey, it's his back! I've seen people use 15-20 watt heads for a lot of gigs around here at similar sized venues.

I Gotta Feeling is a song that I'm always apprehensive to call, but it really works every time. Used it with the 18-22 year old spring break crowd and it went over great. Played it at a casino to 40-60 somethings with the same result. It's one of those songs that has almost universal appeal. Everyone seems to like it.

yup this song goes over every time..WE do it as well.

We did our CSI-medley (Won't Get Fooled Again, Baba o' Riley, Who Are You) last weekend and we got the worst response of the whole night. The Who isn't that well known like the Stones apparently. Our keyboard player used some kind of tremolo effect for Baba o Riley and it sounds pretty convincing.

Daniel Fisher's Sweetwater patch set they ship with the Roland GAIA has a Baba O'Riley done with the arpeggiator and phrase recorder, a total "fire and forget" deal. It sounds pretty darned good too. The beginning of this video shows the "parlor trick" patches like that:

I like what they did with the Who Are You, but the BOR patch is just... a track. I wish somebody would program in a Lowrey TLO-style Marimba Repeat into something.

That demo was pretty cool, though. I keep meaning to get a synth. I want something that I don't have to work too hard at coming up with good patches. That one is now on the short list. :) It's size is also pretty attractive.

Eventually I ended up replacing my GAIA with a Waldorf Blofeld, but it is an excellent instrument and I got a lot of great use out of it. For the price, lightness, and size, it's pretty much unbeatable. The Roland semi-rigid case for it is really good too (it comes with backpack straps, and a warning in the manual not to wear it while riding cycles).

I adore Daniel Fisher's "Analog Strings", and it took a lot of research and work to write a comparable string patch for the Blofeld. That was my biggest roadblock to switching the Blofelds into my stage rig. It's not just a string machine patch -- drop that GAIA down an octave, and those "strings" growl magnificently at the lower end.
