So what TV shows based on music do y'all watch? Let's talk about them because music on TV is awesome.

That Metal Show - I DVR it every Saturday night and have my "coffee with Eddie Trunk Sundays" as my fiance calls `em. I love the show - as a rock and metal fan, Eddie asks great questions, has cool guests, and it's cool to see something like metal on a national network. I have my Stump the Trunk question ready to go.

Live from Daryl's House- I think every musician should be watching Daryl's House! A great celebration of music, stellar musicianship and professionalism, and who doesn't want to just drive a few hours to Daryl's big a$$ home, jam out for a few hours, then have tasty food and wine with him and the band? Great stuff.

and yah, LFDH is great.

Down in CT we get this on public TV which is great too:

Our public TV stations don't carry "Austin City Limits" and it looks like "Soundstage" is gone :( :

BTW speaking of metal, any Ira Black fans here? :

I play with his step-dad :) .

The Live Room - A fantastic "live in the studio" show. A lot of the Ed Sheeren stuff you've been seeing was taken from The Live Room.

Live from Daryl's House - For sure. We all know about it. We all watch it. And if you've ever wondered what's so great about Joe Walsh...

The Guitar Center Sessions - Very cool live without audience show.

Later with Jules Holland - Fantastic range of classic and new artists playing in one hell of a "round".

Off Camera - I've only seen one episode but it does appear to be a new program, The Aimee Mann interview was fantastic. He asked the stuff I wanted to know... Aimee Mann happens to be a favorite of mine. Any doubters, listen to the Magnolia Soundtrack.

Live From Abbey Road - ...has provided some great live in the studio moments.

I am actually in the production process for one that will air on a few channels and cable systems in PA starting in May. Its a singer song writer show (with a twist) that I am helping produce with some media/ musician people. I will put a link up when its ready to air. As far as music on TV I love That Metal Show

I watch a lot of the shows mentioned here that run on Palladia. Love "Darryl's House" and I also enjoy "The Live Room" and "Jules Holland" (depending on the acts, of course.) It's great that actual live music is still alive and well on TV even if it IS way over on channel 572....

As soon as it airs I'll make sure of it. the video shooting starts in 2 weeks. The people/ production company that are doing this show came to me with the idea and I am getting it on TV for them- So I am just taking a executive producer and technical advisory role in all of this (no hands on or editing for me)

I hope it will turn out good otherwise I may have to jump in and get my hands dirty... I'm just so busy between other projects I can't get too involved in this production daily.... I hope these guys don't hit any roadblocks.

Thanks for the "Later" (Jools Holland) reference, will check it out. . I recall he and David Sanborn used to co-host a late 80's show "Night Music", that paired famous musicians with less famous, often ethnic musicians. I only caught a few episodes. Hoping it will be available on Netflix sometime.

For that matter, I loved the original Late Night with Letterman band and seeing some of the "warts and all" performances of the guests who sat in.

Wedding Band- I did enjoy some of this show, most of the time it was cheesy and it was done for laughs but sometimes... once in awhile it would strike a chord with me... plus some of the arrangements of pop tunes were cool.

With that said Z rock was better.
