Members mrmb
Have hooked these mics up to a A&H mix wizard with EV powered speakers and do not have much volume from these mics. Any help would be welcomed. Have changed the mic to an audix with same cable and plenty of volume???????
Members agedhorse
It's the nature of this type of mic. Very high directivity mics such as this are designed with maximum output from the source directly in front of the mic, rapidly falling off to the sides. This makes the mic a poor choice unless the user is willing to adjust their mic technique to that required by the mic.
Members Tomm Williams
For their intended purpose, they are very good mics. I've used them for a few years on loud or highly reflective stages and think they're solid performers. They are a super so if you're not on them, they drop off quickly. Right tool for the job. I sing within a couple of inches of the mic (sometimes right on the gril).
Members witesol
the 967 also has a flat windscreen allowing ones lips to get closer to the element, which helpd GBF but if you get 4 inches away it drops off dramatically
Members Pro Sound Guy
Simple. Bring the input gains on the channel strip up higher. These are very nice microphones by the way.Very nice for female vocal IMO
Members Tomm Williams
Amazing how things occur, I just fell into a pair of EV857's to add to the one I already have. If anyone wants to buy or trade for my three 967's, let me know. Have no use for both models.
Members RoadRanger
While I'm not having any GBF issues with my present mics, might one of these be good for a singing drummer where bleed from a LOUD snare is a problem?
Members Tomm Williams
That would be a good application
