Members liko
I work on the sound team for a small church in DFW, and for a while I've been wanting a matched pair of SDCs for special music miking, mainly choir. My shortlist has been the Rode NT5 and the Oktava MK012, both highly regarded. But, Rode just came out with a budget version, the M5. Smaller, slightly higher self-noise and slightly lower sensitivity/max SPL. They posted a Youtube of the M5 used for choir micing and the results were very good. For $200, less than half the NT5 pair's cost, these seem like slam dunks as a bang-for-buck stereo pair. What I wanted to know was whether any of you guys have picked up a pair of these, and what you think of them? Moderators davie Posted December 22, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 22, 2013 I haven't tried it yet, but its on the list of mics that I'm considering buying. So I'm also curious about them too. Phil O'Keefe is planning to post a review on the M5's soon. Should probably check that out once it's posted.
