Members buitar
Does anyone here have any experience attaching the GK-2A pickup to a guitar with tape? Does it damage the finish at all??
Members the otter
I've done it but it was on an Ibanez JEM with the silver pick guard. I took the GK-2 off and returned the guitar, and no one even knew it was there. I was only on for about 5 to 7 days though.
Members jchas
I don't know much about GK-2A pick-ups, but I know a bitabout tape - use various kinds in my sign shop.3M makes a 1/32" x 1/2' doublesided tape (black) thatremains pliable for years and leaves no residue whentaken off. It's got VERY good bond strength as well so thepickup won't fall off. Hope this helps.

There are different kinds of guitar finishes.
Members jchas
There are no guarentee's - just as every form of cleanseretc. always has the disclaimer ' test product on an inconspicuouse area first...'I have been using it on various paint and wood finishesfor years with no problem. Most tapes will either dry out, leaving behind a dry, powdery residue that nothing seemsto remove -or- has an acidy glue formulation that etchesa gloss finish and discolors the paint. As I said, i've usedit on varnished and laquered woods and enamel and laquerpaint finshes without a problem - would I back up my claimby buying you a new guitar if i'm wrong? Hell no.
