I have this machine and was wondering what it might be worth as we will be moving and I really don't want to take it with us - it weighs a ton and hasn't been used since the 80s or 90s. It has the remote control as well, a take up reel (10.5" all I ever used) and about 25 10.5" tapes, Ampex 456 mostly (the best around back then).

Currently, it's frozen up from sitting in the closet for so many years, but hopefully I can find a service tech in L.A. or Central CA that can bring it back to life so it's not sold as NR. More importantly, I'm hoping it can go to someone who will use and appreciate it.

* TECH FOUND - $85 for basic service + belt/parts

* SELL AS IS - $150 - local L.A. pickup only. (no tapes included)

* $350 - price after being fully restored (includes all 1/4" tapes)

I also have three 2"x10.5" reels of tape (for 24 track machines), and a couple of 1" reels (16 track) to OFFER FOR FREE in exchange for digital transfers to Digital Performer Multi-Track Audio format (or other universal digital multi-track format).

Thanks!
