(That drum sells for over $600 new, making this an even better deal.) The classic brass shell sound is focused and slightly dried out by the hammering, giving a very punchy tone that is well-suited to studio recording and live playing. This drum works well in any kind of music genre! Take this Brass Beauty home and get the sound you've been dying for! This is a difficult drum to find -- there are very few of them out there. This model (LB420BKT) is a brand new addition to Ludwig's snare lineup -- it is not shown in their printed catalogs, or even on their website yet. This drum first became available in 2009, which was Ludwig's 100th anniversary year, but hardly any were sold because the drum wasn't advertised. You can still order this drum but it is no longer available with the 100th anniversary Ludwig badge. A new one goes for almost $540: Here's the link.
