The Gen-X line was a hybrid professional level shell combining the maple (Signia) and birch (Genista) shells that were so successful. Color is called "gunmetal" sparkle - dark silver - and it's a lacquer! The drum is in excellent condition with just a little dirt and fingerprints. The heads are used but have some life left. The Nickel throwoff is stock/original for this drum and has no issues. This is a very versatile drum, great for any style of music - very "present" sounding, not thin like birch can sometimes be or bonky like some lesser maple drums. Buy it, love it, keep it.
