yes! i saw it. part of it, especially in the beginning, i just wanted to say, STFU michael moore. a little too much conjecture for a movie of that importantce in parts. but once he got to the middle/end, his thesis became clear, and it was really excellent, just letting the interviews with the soldiers and their families tell his story, and just shows what the war has *really* been like. god that was powerful. i came out wanting to fight. it was very powerful. i cried a couple of times.

3 and a half out of 4 stars imo.

Thought it was very powerful. Factual, yes. Flimsy arguments, at points, but some arguments are inarguable and damning.

The footage of the black representatives unable to find a senator,

The footage of Bush sitting paralyzed on 9/11,

Footage of a patriotic mother greiving her son's death,

Footage of war carnage,

Moore got out of the way enough on this one to really hit some hard punches. Bravo.

I saw it yesterday, and I think it's well worth seeing. Very powerful.

Though it's too bad that because everything is so polarized in the US and that all politics has degenerated into name-calling and yelling, many people wont go to see it because they've been told not to by right-wing commentators.

And political pressure on some theater chain owners not to show it or show it in a limited amount of theaters wont help either.

In spite of that, it was the #1 movie at the box office this weekend.

You'll know exactly why "they" dont want you to see it. I dont think anyone who does see it would vote for Bush in November, that's for sure.

Its a good film. Its quite a bit like a long episode of "The Daily Show". Its his opinion and nothing else. I enjoyed the film alot, but I already hate W and THe Dick and all of their posse so much that I would be one of the "Converted" that Moore was preaching to.

I thought "Bowling for COlumbine" got much more tedious and nasty. Charlton Heston couldn't defend himself, W and The Dick can. It isnt nearly as critical of the Democrats as it should be. It leaves a number things out, like all things Israel.

Its fantastic that its causing some folks here in the USA to question how things are. There is really no new information in the film, besides the personal stories, that you wouldnt know if you make the extra effort to be informed. But since so few are informed, this film is shocking to many. Its also causing many to deny its truthfulness. THe film is very fact based in its ideas (you can verify most everything), but of course very damning in the juxtaposition of images to ideas, or just one idea with another.

However, and this is for you kids out there :D , when a governement that does not want to allow you to hear dissenting views, when a people who will not allow you to hear dissenting views or becomes so infuriated at the meer existance of an opposing point of view, this is fascism. Moore is on the front line of the War against Fascism.

I dunno, that makes me want to see it even more. I wonder how much of an affect this film will have on the election.

It's more than his opinion. He provides facts and some documents to back up his claims, so he's not just making outrageous claims.

I found it to be a very well-made movie. It flowed at a reasonable pace and had its share of funnies and sads. I wasn't expecting some of the graphic stuff - if you saw the film you know what I mean - but overall, a really great movie. I think it's going to break a lot of box office records, at least for a film of its type. It totally deserved the Cannes palm.

I saw it on friday, and pretty much echo what everyone's already said about it. Of course like most of the theater watching it I was already part of the choir but I still loved the way he preached. One thing I hate though that surrounds this movie are the people that are bashing it without seeing it. If your going to complain about a movie like this at least go and see it. Then your arguments will come across as far more intelligent, at least to me.

There's some name-calling for ya. The reason I say that is that what he is proposing is to wait for terrorists to attack us instead of having the balls to go get them where they are. And what we need now is more pacifist socialism that "contains" reckless dictators just like in 1937-40. Read history. Don't repeat it!

Ah yes, perpetuate the image of the US as a bully nation and get even more countries pissed off at us!

Great idea!

oh, i see..because someone has gone and questioned what my government is doing, they're a pacifist socialist?

you obviously haven't read much of anything, other than cliff notes and summaries, man.

What do you think 'reckless dictators' use as justification for attacking other countries? huh?

I'll give you a hint:

wait for
_____
to attack us instead of having the balls to go get them where they are

and another thing..there's not a universally bipolar relationship between supporting our current president and socialism.

There are degrees of agreement with any action by any government, solely based on the fact that there must be more than one person being governed.

i think you'd rather not really look very closely at anything, because everything you've typed is like a shortcut to thinking.

Yeah I put OT in the topic so people would know it has nothing to do with synths or keys, threads like this are easily avoided. I don't post in OJ cuz OJ is {censored}, and I knew I could get more informative replies here.

Wow, way to show your ignorance. Maybe you are a gun totin' redneck who shoots first and asks questions later, and in that sense, you share a lot with our "leader," but if you read the recent report or even saw the movie, there were NO connections between Iraq and Al Qaeda.

I have no doubt in my mind that it is uninformed and ignorant people like you who are keeping Bush's approval rating afloat. Michael Moore is practicing one of his most basic freedoms, and if for nothing else, I applaud him for sharing his point of view with everyone else.

Don't open the thread if it says "OT." That means it is not for people like you and should therefore be avoided.

Isn't that the truth. Whenever I visit OJ, which is very rare, I just get depressed by the vociferous idiocy. If you say you support universal health care, 20 people will post saying something nasty about your mom.

True dat!

I personally can't wait to see this movie. However, I think it will only reinforce the gag reflex I feel whenever I think about another 4 years of Bush.

Man, what a breath of fresh air. Gotta love the positive responses about the movie here in KSS.

Over in Guitar Jam the Micheal Moore thread is filled with Bush loving asswipes. Guitars are great, but man, the general IQ of guitarists is not even close to that of synthesists. And I'm saying that as a person who plays both, but is a guitarist first and foremost!

But that's because synthesists are usually nerdier, geekier, and thus, more educated / informed. Guitarists spend too much time with their cocks flailing about, doing drugs and other boring stuff like that! :D

*runs for cover*
