Members araanderson Posted February 20, 2013 Members Posted February 20, 2013 I have a Bilhorn Brothers portable organ that I'm selling. It's a Junior model, a very rare one as I have not seen another one like it. I believe it's from the 1910's. Technical details:Bilhorn folding organ, early design, Walnut, 39 notes. 1 set of reeds, 8' pitch. F to G (39 notes) covering all the voice parts from Bass to SopranoWeight packed: about about 17 poundsDimensions: Boxed, 24" x 11" x 13". Setup, 27" x 24" x 9.25"Key height: floor to naturals keytop, 25 5/8".Includes: cushioned footlocker that has been converted into a carrying case One of the earliest models of the Bilhorn organs. The case is constructed entirely of black walnut: framed in solid stock; panels are 3-ply walnut veneers. The lid hinges upward to form a music support, revealing a metal clip to hold a songbook open and in place. A small lever operated by the right knee, opens the swell shade, for additional expression. Slender legs unfold from the bottom to set it up. The bellows straps are attached to stirrups that simply hang below. The stirrups hold securely to your shoe, and can be bent to accommodate most. The instrument is easy to pump; its bellows capacity is modest compared to an Estey, but it has been used to lead a men's group of about 15 (casual singing at a retreat). Feel free to get in touch if you would like more info, photos, and sound samples of the organ. My email address is araanderson@hotmail.com Best, Ara
