Members nolights
I've got a horseshoe-shaped work area...computer on the left, VS-1680 on my right, keys in the middle between them and effects rack behind me. So I'm always going from one side to another, rolling in the chair, with my headphones on. I spend way too much time getting headphone cables unstuck from the chair wheels...between gaps in the desks... legs of stands. And, when I'm leaving the confines, it seems I always trip over the cable (grace is not my strong suit). As a result...I spend way too much time and money replacing cables (especially the AKG 240's that you have solder). I'm thinking of going the wireless route. But before I do --- does anyone have a simple, no-brainer solution to klutz-proof my studio?
Members Allerian
Buy a ten foot headphone cable. Run it up to a hook on the ceiling right over your head so you can run your headphone cable straight up and out of your way.
Members nolights
That's a good idea! But I'll have to find a cross beam to anchor the hook to, so I don't pull down the ceiling .! Thanks.
Members radiospace
No matter how careful I am, when I get up from the computer and start to walk away, my headphone cable always slithers out and wraps itself around my ankle like a squid drawing in its prey. Then comes the clunk of the headphones hitting the floor, cussing, etc.
Members Fear My Potato
Eh, I've just come to regard resoldering headphone cables and jacks as part of the music writing process
