Members aideas23 Posted April 26, 2008 Members Share Posted April 26, 2008 I need to clear up some space for a new acquisition so this rarely played 1987 Sea Foam Green Fender Strat Plus Stratocaster will need a new home: The Strat Plus Series was introduced by Fender in 1987 and was the highest-end production model next to Fender's Custom Shop guitars. (Production stopped in late 1998 or early 1999.) The Plus Series consisted of the Plus, the Plus Deluxe, and then later, in 1990, the Ultra. The Plus Series was a very good attempt to reclaim Fender USA's floundering reputation, as quality had drasically gone down hill under CBS ownership. Alder body, maple neck, skunk-stripe down the back, C neck profile, as well as the Bi-flex truss rod and 22 medium-jumbo frets. 3 Lace Sensor pups, 5 way switch, Wilkinson roller nut and Sperzel locking tuners. It is rarely used with very minor finish swirls. There are few very small dents, about 1/8" in size on the back of the guitar. There are also 2 small superficial paint cracks at the juncture of the neck to body. This is only thru the paint, not structural and does not affect the integrity of the neck/body joint. I tried to show that in the photos. It is set up for 10s. I do not gig and only play at home. This is one of many guitars both electric and acoustic that I rotate playing.
