Oddly enough, I bought it to trade for a '72 Tele Deluxe or Custom, but I just bought one (Custom) outright on a steal, so the Jazzy is up for sale or trade for something else.

Looks just like this one (this is NOT mine, but it looks identical, though mine is CIJ).

Comes with a Fender Gig bag. Sorry, not interested in the SG.

I actually think it's much cooler with the natural headstock, rather than the matching headstock, especially with the red. Red headstocks look weird (though other colors do look good matching).

BTW, you have a '72 Tele sunburst? Beautiful guitar. I have one in all black (I have a '62 tele sunburst, and wanted something different). That color scheme looks great with that pickguard.

Seen identical ones go for $700 to $1100 on Ebay. I'd settle for the lower end of that spectrum. I'm flexible.

They actually sell for around 500-700 on Ebay for a CIJ model in CAR. I am sure a simple search would have been a little easier than actually pulling numbers from out of the air. Unless you are counting foreign auctions, in a foreign currency, and being brand new.

Just my .02

I did do a search of closed auctions on Ebay, I didn't just pull numbers out of the air. The one I saw for $1100 WAS an in AU, sorry, I didn't realize that. But that still converts to more than $1000 US dollars. Since you're so thorough in your searching, where did you find one for $500? There are NO closed auctions on "CIJ Jazzmaster" or "Japan Jazzmaster" anywhere near that. So let's not spread some BS to try to drive the value down.

Only ONE CAR Jazzmaster CIJ has sold recently, so looking at some other CIJ jazzmasters recently selling on Ebay, you have:

$799.99 on June 19 (Buy it now)

$710 on June 15

Anyway, here are some pics. It's in brand-new shape. ENJOY!

Candy apple Red- Check

CIJ- Check

Near New-Check

Upgraded Novak Pickups- I didnt see this on yours, but these are handwound pickups, about $250/installed

Please dont insult me, as I am just trying to get a good deal, and you are obviously trying to get the most out of your guitar. No hard feelings...

No problem. On my searches to find the value of this one, that auction didn't come up. I searched under "CIJ Jazzmaster" and "Japan Jazzmaster", because I wanted to avoid any new MIM or the MIA series, as they are obviously going to be worth more/less depending.

The one you listed has replaced pickups, sure, but also some gouges. But it's the same guitar pretty much.

Like I said, I'm flexible on pricing or trade options. And I'm really not in a rush to sell....I really do like the guitar. Just for whatever reason, I'm not sure it totally fits me & my style. But I have a sneaky feeling that once I DO sell it, I might half regret it. But that all depends on where the $$$ goes or what sorts of trades I get.

"jl in nc", I'm a Jim also, so that makes you OK in my book.

Now---back to the regularly scheduled activities of MAKING OFFERS!!

FYI, Novak pickups are $80 each straight from Novak. Installation takes just a few minutes. So you can save a few $$ by going direct and doing a little soldering.

I like these CIJ pickups, though. Maybe not exact vintage JM sound, but still very, very cool.

Sorry, no way can it go for $500. I'm flexible, but not THAT flexible. It's worth more than that, especially in this condition. But thanks for the offer and the look.
