Members Stereohigh
GIBSON MELODY MAKER it comes with a very old possibly sixties case gives the whole thing a vibe. The serial number is 2**** which makes it a 1962/63 vintage guitar. This is a really cool vintage guitar It's tone and ring are superb. It is a rock n roll icon and its ability to deliver that timeless Melody Maker tone after 46 years is just amazing. It's set up with D'Addario 11's,although I can change them if you want. (thicker strings help with intonation as there are no adjustable saddles) Its absolutely amazing to play and the action is nice and low with no rattle, buzzes or chokes on the fretboard. Pickup is original - The 'wrap-around' bridge to be likewise and obviously the neck and body are original. The guitar has had a complete refinish at some stage, the tuners have been changed for far superior 3 a side Kluson Deluxes, pots and wiring are non-original,but high quality. It comes in a hardcase that looks as old as the guitar but is not an original Gibson case.I was tempted to change the pick up, but everyone always says to keep them original, but if anyone wants it with a seymour or whatever, if you buy it, I can fit it for free. I think the one in does give it that sixties sound though, and a real bite when distorted.
