Members smalltownpoet
I recently purchased this 1996 G&L Legacy (beauty!) but the neck got damaged in shipping. I'm nowhere near a luthier, so my loss is your gain. Get her fixed up or throw a new neck and she's good to go! Original pics were from before "the incident," with one snapped showing the neck damage. Alder body, maple neck. Supposedly, a professional luthier set up the guitar, level the frets, block the tremolo, and add a graphite nut. Neck: 12" radius, 1 5/8" nut, and 25 1/2" scale. Comes with case. $415 OBO INSURED SHIPPING/PAYPAL
Members Carbohydrates
Bummer, man. Just a warning to anyone who plans to tackle this, Fender necks are NOT interchangeable with G&L. Be advised!
Members Nananine
Man, that's heartbreak right there. Also, as a 90's G&L Legacy, doesn't this have a three-bolt neck? That would make finding a neck a little tough...
Members tone7426
Bummer, man.Just a warning to anyone who plans to tackle this, Fender necks are NOT interchangeable with G&L. Be advised! very true, and buying a neck from G&L will be expensive: $400 to $500, plus they need the body to insure it fits. actually they don't even want to do it. if anybody's interested, i can put you in touch with the inside guy at G&L to talk to. it's a lot of work but a Fender style neck could work if you had a luthier make a 'end cap' for it and reshape the heel..... or if you HAD to, [and didn't mind the gigantic loss of tone & sustain] do the measurments and bolt a Fender neck up with the 3/8" or so gap between the neck and neck cavity to allow for the longer G&L neck heel design
Members smalltownpoet
it is a 3 bolt neck - the quote from G&L for a neck was $325, so the best option may be to use this as a project guitar or see if a luthier can fix her up.
