Members hoosranime
Hello: looking at the pics of the guitar, it appears Korean, the bridge is not correct for a Japanese model, the japanese models have the small posts like a gibson where the chinese and korean ones have the large posts with the flat head screw tops does the headstock have tokai in pearl? the serial number looks fishy also, see the newer ones are usually stamped Made in Japan in Black ink along with the serial number. here's a link below to some of the real ones http://www.tokai-guitars.co.uk/main.htm the reason I am asking all of this, there is knock off's being made in China by Musoland and a few other places onlinehttp://www.musoland.com.cn/classbrand.asp?LarCode=22 JSD'S Guitar shack and a few other places in Canada were passing off the fakes as the real deal that is why I am asking so many questions
Members ikeyedyourcar8i
hmm yeah, now that i take a closer look, the truss rod cover looks wrong too.. not sure, and I apologize if I am wrong. Also, according to the serial number this was made in 1981.. Hard to believe it's in mint condition if its that old
Members ikeyedyourcar8i
yeah, sorry to say, but this is definitely a fake. Truss Rod, "Love Rock" font, and serial number are dead giveaways
Members hoosranime
the irony the serial number is one digit different than the muso land piece of crap might be able to trade it for a fake gibson guitar or an epiphone, can't pass a fake off for that price

Members hoosranime
Contact the moderator, sorry to hear you didn't know, but when buying a guitar, do your research. there is a lot of forgeries coming out of China and Korea now, they are close, but no cigar. when buying a Japanese brand guitar, check all of the forums, talk to people, this way you can get an idea of what to look for. you have Greco, Aria Pro, Burny, Tokai, Orville, Edwards, Navigator, History and Epiphone to name a few brands out of Japan. see on that guitar, the dead giveaway is the bridge and the serial number. according to the info, it is supposed to be an early 80's model. it would have tokai as a pearl inlay, where all of the parts would be nickel rather than chrome. Tokai Love Rock's have a collectors following because they are built so well, best of all you can get a vintage quality instrument without bending over for Gibson. also the top doesn't look right either. most of the love rock's I have seen from the early 80's don't have that much flame on their tops, that's a tiger top, and that from what I have seen is usually on the more recent models. hope you didn't get burned on this deal.
