Members Order_66
I have a Malmsteen style guitar with a full scalloped birdseye neck for sale for $450 firm. If you are looking for a strat that will nail the mid 80's to early 90's Malmsteen tone then this is without a doubt the ticket, it has those soaring highs and warm, punchy mids that Malmsteen had on his early recordings. I have owned 2 USA Malmsteen models and 3 japan models and none of them have that older tone nailed as good as this one does. The neck is a professionally scalloped mighty mite birdseye finished in gunstock oil and the body is a squire special 2 piece basswood, the bridge pickup is a mighty mite humbucker, this pickup does not have insane output, it is very clear, quiet and is moderate to high output. The tuners are locking planet waves, I love these tuners, much better than sperzels IMO. The volume pot is a dimarzio 1 meg, the tone controls are disconnected. I just put the ESP decal on the heastock because I had it laying around but it can be easily rubbed off with a wet rag, there is a small gap in the neck pocket toward the upper horn, it's not a big deal and can be barely seen but I believe in full disclosure regardless. I built this about 2 years ago and to be honest I rarely play it, I love the tone and the action but I play my carvins more than anything else, I am also about to get laid off from my job and could use the extra cash. I'll take paypal e-check, or use bank funds but add 3% to the total, no credit cards at all, I'll also take a postal money order. I haven't been on this forum very long and have a low post count but I would be happy to allow anyone from this forum to give this guitar a try in person, I live in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio, or send a friend over to check it out for you if you know of any who live close to me. I also used to sell on ebay "kingdiamond_9" some of you may have bought guitars from me in the past, unfortunately I had to close my account due to the latest seller screwing by ebay. Members yoyodunno
Don't you think a 1meg pot with single coils would be too bright?
Members Order_66
For me the brightness is about perfect IMO, maybe that was what my older USA malmsteen guitars needed, they seemed to have a darker bluesy tone to them and I never really cared for that tone, I actually like the brighter tones from the basswood body japan models but hated the lacquered necks on them.
