the 5150 II is in great condition. I put a new set of JJ 6l6 in it a couple of weeks ago. Preamp tubes are mainly chinese 9th generation. You might want to change them only for the purpose of tweaking the amp to your taste. There is nothing wrong with the preamp tubes but they are what I thought sounded good and might not be what others want. This is obvious but I thought it needed to be said.

the amp had the Standard Mod done by Voodoo Amps in Ithaca, a little over a year ago. and then later I had the clean channel modded again by FJA Mods in Syracuse. The bias mod was included in this.

On top of all that, the amp comes with its own roadcase. The roadcase is sturdy with real metal handles and latches. It also has an extra compartment for the footswitch which is included.

i have pics for those that are interested. Im not really sure how much to sell it for, so you are more than welcome to make me an offer. Pick up or meet are best but I will ship if necessary. Im in upstate NY.

Sorry, I`m not interested in buying the amp, but I do have a couple of questions if you don`t mind. If I have this right, you had the amp modded by Voodoo Amps. Their standard mod? What did you stipulate to Trace about what you wanted out of the amp? Why did you find it necessary to have it modified further by Jerry? How did you like the amp after each mod and what were the over-all changes you noticed?

Personally, I would think you could get around $1,000 for the amp itself and maybe another $100.00 with the roadcase if it`s a good one. It`s sorta hard to get big money out of a modded amp. Even when the work is done by two of the best in the business. Both those guys are great and truly knowledgable.

Good luck selling your amp. Hope you get the big bucks out of it.

i got the standard mod because i enjoyed the clips of their 5150 and wanted the clarity and ability to get a fuller distortion at a lower volume. I had been doing a lot of bedroom playing and felt that it was good investment. It was also a way to get the amp fixed up with new tubes and just another excuse to get the mod.

i wasnt quite satisfied with the clean channel the way it was, so I talked to JerryP and he told me what he could do. I live basically half hour from FJA so i figured it couldnt hurt. It turns out the Voodoo didnt or doesnt (not sure which) change the bias on the amp that much. So JerryP did that and fattened up the rythym channel. That is why. I got the mods.

After all of it, I can say that I do not regret doing business with either company. Both were great and made this 5150 unique. I now have a pretty good clean, fat crunch channel, and a lead channel that can cut through any mix. However, my new band is leading in a different direction and I feel that it is time for me to move on to somethin different. Hope that answered your questions.
