Members tonesfoyobones Posted March 11, 2009 Members Posted March 11, 2009 First off let me say that I love this amp. It has stayed in my circulation for a long time now and only recently got put in the closet due to the purchase of my second ENGL. The Randall has stood up against all other amps but the luster of the ENGL's has me at the moment. This is a very rare model that was only mfg for 2 years I believe. It pretty much identical to the "RG100ES" except for the "sustain switch". With the RG100ES you have to pull the treble knob out to engage it. On the RG100ES-XP, there is a separate switch. The problem was that when you "pulled" the knob to activate it there was a substantial amount of power/volume lost. The "XP" model addressed it with a separate switch that now acts like a high boost. Now it is more lead friendly. The XP is a better, upgraded version offer the original. As for reliability..... this thing is a tank! You can not hurt it! PERIOD!! It is 150 watts at 4ohms and I think around 100-110 in 8ohms..? ( I think that I recall reading that somewhere about the 8 ohms) I have references as well as a great Ebay feedback. I am at 209 feed backs at 100%. Please contact me with any offers. I am really not looking for a trade as I am pretty set with gear with the exception of a few pedals/rack gear. I will send additional pics if needed. Amp covering has some scuffs and such but really good for a late 80's amp. Thanks for the time.
