I've designed these to work purely on the right hand, so there is no absolutely no left hand involved in the exercises. They are designed to get a fluid, articulate alternate picking technique, so that you can thrash out semiquavers at 240bpm.

U means up and D means down - alternate picking. The idea being to brake downthis technique to it's basic motions. If you can'tplay well on one string you certainly won't be able to play well crossing between them.
