Members Chris Lohr Posted February 19, 2003 Members Posted February 19, 2003 Im wondering... what scale is being used at the beginning of White Rabbit? Also, what other chords do you recommend for that 60s psychedelic... almost indonesian or something... kind of sound? Thanks. Im not very good with scales... I basically play pentatonic blues and just adding in what I think sounds good.
Members Lonz Live Posted February 19, 2003 Members Posted February 19, 2003 Hi, since no else more knowledgible has jumped in, I'll offer my limited insight. While I don't know the answer with regards to "White Rabbit", I think you

Members Lonz Live Posted February 19, 2003 Members Posted February 19, 2003 Thanks Ove! I knew I was getting in over my head! Yes, I meant HALF STEP. As I was writing it I was picturing fingering notes one fret away, ie half step. Thanks for the correction. Ove, when you say the blues scale, are you referring to the 5 note pentatonic? Members Lonz Live Posted February 19, 2003 Members Posted February 19, 2003 Thanks Ove. After some thought, I guess I do throw in that b5 while playing the pentatonic, though only on the third string, fourth fret. I just didn't recognize it as it was written out (4 to b5). After 25 years of playing, I'm still learning and always will be.

Members Ambrosia Posted February 19, 2003 Members Posted February 19, 2003 Tune to drop D and use the bottom 3 strings as drones a' la sitar. Use the d strings mainly, and work your way up and down g string. I sure you will find some cool sounds.
