Members Terje Posted March 13, 2003 Members Posted March 13, 2003 ... but only on a flat surface. Would be cool if I could translate that to strings. Any ideas?
Members Neilsonite Posted March 13, 2003 Members Posted March 13, 2003 Do you mean with your right hand finger-tips? Like tremolo on classical guitar? I haven't been able to translate the tremolo technique too well on to electric (the strings are too close together), but it is a cool sound, I should work on it... Oh yeah, just thought of Michael Hedges doing that with flat fingers rather than finger-tips to get a strange percussive sound before hammering-on a chord. Seems to work best on steel string acoustic. Hmmm, going to make strange noises on my acoustic...

Any ideas? i remember an interview with the bassist from the Who.. ehm ARGH cant remember his name john entwistle.. yeah.. he used to encorparate this tabledrumming thingy for his bassplaying.. you keep your right hand parallel so each finger is above a string and roll away it was his own version of slapping, instead of using just his thumb he slapped with all his fingers
Members Terje Posted March 15, 2003 Author Members Posted March 15, 2003 Kinda interesting suggestion. As flat as possible? Could work.
