Members cozimnot Posted July 3, 2003 Members Posted July 3, 2003 I have no idea of hwo this 4/4, 5/4 and so on..works. could somone please explain this to me? Does 4/4 mean that you count to four for every beat? And how does quatre notes and sixteenth notes and such come into play? Thanks in advance.
Members Janglin_Jack Posted July 3, 2003 Members Posted July 3, 2003 The top number means how many beats there are per measure. The bottom number represents the time value per beat. So your example of 4/4 is four beats per measure and each beat is a quarter note. 5/4 time would be five beats per measure and each beat is a quarter note. Jack
