I've seen this notated on various scores for Randy Rhoads stuff. And I've heard them on the abums. But what the heck is he actually doing?

Use a distortion sound for maximum effect.

Turn your pick around so that you are using one of the less pointy corners (pick scrapes devour the plastic of your pick, reducing lifespan of corner being used).

Starting around the neck pick-up area, in a smooth motion, scrape (in the direction of the neck) the edge of the pick along the length of the 6th (E) string, the 5th (A) string, or even the gap between the two strings so that both strings sound. As you scrape, you may wish to damp the strings near the nut with your left hand.

Rock on! ;)

OMG!! This is high level theory stuff here.

What's a friggin pick slide???
Dude listen to Hendrix and catch the vibe. Hit the guitar with the palm of your hand, pick behind the nut, slide the neck of your guitar against the mike stand , use your pick to tap the pole pieces of your pickups. Slide the side of your pick on your strings!!! Do it fast. Do it slow. Do a couple of fast ones followed by one long slow one. Listen to Jeff Beck.
Experiment.
