Members FIREWIND7 Posted August 28, 2003 Members Posted August 28, 2003 This is a question I have because I used to have arguments with another guitarist I was in a band with. He's going to school for theory and I am self taught, so we naturally clashed though our opinions, even though (at least at the time) we were about the same as far as skill level. I am learning theory now but one of the things we clashed on was whether or not theory was required to play prog rock/metal. I find it hard to believe that EVERY progger went to music school, etc, and that especially holds true for the metal side of the equation (of course we all know Petrucci and Romeo had lessons). Any thoughts?
