spicing up some bass lines

Hey everyone. Ive been playing bass for 3 years now all self taught so I dont know too much theory but I am trying to teach myself so if I ask something dumb bare with me. Anyways I am in a band and no one really has really learned any music theory other then me. The rhytm guitarist in my band basically just sits down and picks chords at random that sound good to him instead of using scales or any theory...so our songs are not written very well. And when I play bass I pretty much just follow the rythm guitar but I am getting away from that but I would like some help or some pointers on how to spice up some songs or even on how just to start writing a bass line from scratch. 3 of my bands songs can be heard on mp3.com HERE

also if it helps, the notes for the verse of the song Rejected Love are: G,F,G,C and the Chorus is: G,D,C

Overall I really have no idea how to spice up any of my bands songs since they were just thrown together with no musical background. I've tried to use some scales in the key of the song but I just don't know...Anyways any help at all or pointers would be much appreciated. Thanks

Nathan
