Members DeadNight Warrior Posted September 17, 2003 Members Posted September 17, 2003 Well I think it's good anyway...It's also a decent little alternate picking exercise I suppose... Firstly, there's a few things that should be said. The exercise is all 16th notes, aside from the 1/4 note in the last bar (the 7th fret with vibrato) and the little 16th note triplet and 8th note which come straight after it. I play this all with alternate picking, except for the little triplet arpeggio at the end, which I sweep (except at low tempos where I can still alternate pick it). Secondly this exercise is intended to be done with a farily strict fingering pattern. Basically, if it uses all four fingers, with each finger having its designated fret. 1st finger takes the 7th fret, 2nd takes the 8th, 3rd takes the 9th and the pinky takes the 10th (as well as the 12th at the end). Playing this exercise will test your finger independence, particularly around the 2nd and 3rd bars. Try it out with a clean tone, see how clean your playing is. Hopefully that tab will work...
