Members Terje Posted October 4, 2003 Members Posted October 4, 2003 I saw him live in a small blues club in Stockholm earlier this week. Lots of cirkus tricks, I can tell you that Anyway, here's a really cool wah-wah trick that works on any acoustic guitar, even whe unplugged, as long as the strings are fastened with those little pins right behind the bridge (like they often are on acoustics). You need a slide too, preferably a steel. The edge of it had better be fairly round (my Chrome Dome sure come in handy these times ). It's easier if the guitaris in your lap but it makes no big difference. It can only be done on an open string. Hit an open string of your choice. Now, take the slide up to the exact spot where the string goes over the nut on the bridge, right over the edge. Glide over the edge, carefully. You should hear a very pronounced "waow". It's not something that need amplification to be heard, it should be very obvious what I'm talking about once you get it right. So, it can only be done on an open string (unless you're gonna go through some serious trouble) and is not something you really do midflight. Bob Brozman did it twice and both times it was at the end of a tune. But it can be done on an acoustic
Members 335clone Posted October 6, 2003 Members Posted October 6, 2003 Was that your first time seeing Bob? He certainly puts on a good show, with a lot of fun tricks like that. What style was he playing? Sometimes he does straight up blues, sometimes Hawaiian, or was it a mix of all his stuff? Nice to see my neighbor got to your part of the globe.

Members thebadger Posted October 10, 2003 Members Posted October 10, 2003 Bob Brozman is one of the coolest guys I've ever seen play....actually he is the coolest guy I've seen play. I love his sense of humour and his wild antics on those national guitars...unbelievable.

Bobs tours are a give and take thing, where he takes his music around the world, and brings back new ideas from the places he visits. I try to catch him between tours, when he likes to do small shows in our local bar. He usually has one of his colaborators come up and do a couple of shows with him. Last year he did a private party at his home with a number of Indian musicians. I had to pass due to previous commitments, but a buddy of mine got to go. He said it was quite an amazing night. Lucky dog.
