Members Mongoloid Posted November 5, 2003 Members Posted November 5, 2003 Man there are so many freaking exotic scales and modes and what not, maybe someone in here could recommend me something outside of the standard, maj, min, harmonic min, melodic min, aug, and modal stuff. Give me like a Zimbabwae southeastern #13 scale!!! I know people in here could recommend some cool ones!!
Members edeltorus Posted November 5, 2003 Members Posted November 5, 2003 How about this one: Romanian: W H W+H H W H W1 2 b3 #4 5 6 b7C D Eb Gb G A Bb C It's from the harmonic minor family.. 4th mode.
Members Cranky_San Posted November 5, 2003 Members Posted November 5, 2003 i don't much about those type of scales but there a lot, such as:hisdutanijavanesespanisharabianpersian super locrianand many morethey are the so called "exotic scales"
Members Chris Lenk Posted November 5, 2003 Members Posted November 5, 2003 Just going the through the modes of harmonic minor will give you some cool exotic sounds. I particularly like phrygian dominant which is based on the 5th degree and goes 1 b2 3 4 5 b6 7.
