Members d0zerz Posted November 24, 2003 Members Posted November 24, 2003 I was looking around the net for some cool fingerpicking patterns but all I found was beginner stuff. Does anyone have some cool fingerpicking patters they use as alternatives to strumming chords? Like how dylan does in "don't think twice it's alright". I'd like to start building more fingerpicking patterns into my repitroire. Thanks
Members confuseitall Posted November 24, 2003 Members Posted November 24, 2003 try checking out stuff that Nick Drake does, you can find plenty of tabs of his stuff. His style is great, it'll introduce you to new tunings as well.
Members F-holes Posted November 25, 2003 Members Posted November 25, 2003 "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" is a good example of what is known as 'Travis Picking'(Named after fingerpicker Merle Travis). The technique is fairly common and there are lots of popular songs which use it.
