Members 1derboy Posted December 20, 2003 Members Posted December 20, 2003 I'm having trouble with my bends. If I'm doing a bend with a single finger, I'm fine. However, when I use multiple fingers for added strenght, I start to "snowplow". Basically when I bend up my fingers slip under the other strings and they end up on top of my knuckles. What am I doing wrong? I don't think its the action because I still do it on my really low action guitar. I'm self taught so I've never had anyone to show me how to bend "properly". Thanks.

Try bending on the B string for ease. Try to imagine the fingers working together as one finger to make the bend. Just keep at it, it will happen.
Members Rocinante Posted December 25, 2003 Members Posted December 25, 2003 It sounds like your fingers are approaching the strings from too steep an angle. They should not be far off the parallel -- no more than 30 degrees -- when you start the bend. You might try lowering the action somewhat, as a high action may be a contributory factor.
