Members Terje Posted January 17, 2004 Members Posted January 17, 2004 All I can come up with is this: B C for a Cmaj7 chord, F E for G7, G Ab for G7alt... actually, there are many ways it could be used over an altered chord, right? Dammit, I need ideas for how to use this interval. Give them to me please!
Poparad Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 Perhaps F E Eb D or something like that over a G7 chord. Or maybe taking G Ab on G7 and moving it up in maj 2nds.

Members Terje Posted January 17, 2004 Author Members Posted January 17, 2004 Let's move that idea downward a maj 2nd... F E works fine over a Dm7 chord. Then you have this sequence: E F over the Dm7 chord, G Ab and A Bb over the G7 and then up to B C for the Cmaj7 chord. Need to try that out when I get home.
Members Terje Posted January 17, 2004 Author Members Posted January 17, 2004 Ah! But I don't have to get home to hear it. I have BAIB at work. It sounds a bit harsh but clears up nicely. This is just a very basic idea, no rhythm to speak of.
Members edeltorus Posted January 17, 2004 Members Posted January 17, 2004 Terje, Are you looking for ways to use the b2 as a chord-extension or inside your melodie/solo stuff?

Eh... both? Probably more for soloing since this isa little tricky voicing to play, so I won't be doing it while singing for at least another three years. Maybe while comping someone else soloing.
Members Terje Posted January 18, 2004 Author Members Posted January 18, 2004 Here are two more ideas (with a little rhythm added to them this time ). They are very smooth, no altered notes.
