Members Little Dreamer Posted March 1, 2004 Members Posted March 1, 2004 There's a book called The Magic Touch by David Celentano that's got a whole lot of interesting four-finger right hand tapping stuff. Not your typical linear stuff on a single string, but arpeggiating chords with your right hand and pulling off to chords in the left hand. Pretty cool stuff.
Members Rand Al'Thor87 Posted March 1, 2004 Author Members Posted March 1, 2004 Damn, i'm going to have to practice a good deal (serious understatement) to use all of the fingers on the right hand (- thumb). My weako pinky is the problem...
Members DoubleAgent Posted March 1, 2004 Members Posted March 1, 2004 the way I started was just playing scales with my right hand... say G major starting at the 15th fret, up and down. Work on being accurate with the hammer-ons going up and developing a pull off technique going down. A cool thing to try is to learn an arpeggio form using both hands. Say like C Major starting at the 8th fret. Sorta like this... e------------------------------------15 b--------------------------13--t17-- g----------------------12--------------- d-----------------t14-------------- a--------10-t15-------------------- e-8--t12----------------------- It's pretty amazing when you can pull one of these out of your bag o tricks... Unfortunately I've been doing this for 10 years and I'm still sloppy with it due to a lack of serious dedication to the technique..
