Members Bbreaker Posted March 7, 2004 Members Posted March 7, 2004 Let's all discover a new chord or cool inversion.
Members Joe Merlino Posted March 7, 2004 Members Posted March 7, 2004 --5-- --3-- --3-- --2-- ----- ----- Depending on what the bass is playing this can be either G7(#5/#9), C13, or Db(#5/b9)
Members Mr.Hanky Posted March 7, 2004 Members Posted March 7, 2004 --5-------- --3-------- --0-------- --4-------- --2-------- --0-------- I guess you could call it E Min 11, voiced 1 5 9 b3 b7 11 Nice chord, lift the pinky on the high E string too, or move the whole shape up to the 7th position. Members Auggie Doggie Posted March 8, 2004 Members Posted March 8, 2004 C MAJOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! E: B: 8 G: 5 D: A: 7 E: An open-voiced, 1st inversion (3rd in the bass) C major chord!
Members Fusion58 Posted March 8, 2004 Members Posted March 8, 2004 Whoa! This thread is shaping up to be a good chord resource. Here's a cool chordal sequence on the first four strings. This sort of sequencing technique is good for creating a sense of harmonic movement over a static D Dorian vamp:1) ----5---- ----1---- ----4---- ----0---- --------- ---------2) ----7---- ----3---- ----5---- ----0---- --------- ---------3) ----8---- ----5---- ----7---- ----0---- --------- ---------4) ----10--- ----6---- ----9---- ----0---- --------- --------- etc.BTW, you can apply this same sequencing technique to any chord you already know by simply moving each voice in the chord up to the next degree of the scale from which the chord is built.
